Honestly i would prefer to redo the map for something smaller and more detailed. The only thing that bother is that Kimmy and SG work will be lost. I'm not happy with most of my work on this map. It feel empty and kinda amateurish for most of it And since i'm mostly alone most of the week i have plenty of time to do it I heard your concern about events (lately i have been a bit lazy on that ) but spending ~ten hours each week to do maps that will be used only once is pretty frustrating so i will try to refocus all events on the main map. It will involve more people that way and would represent less work in the future. Personally I wouldn't mind if making buildings smaller and more together would create more connectivity with roleplays, instead of them being spread so far apart. But ofcause I can't speak to what SG thinks about it, just that I have the feeling the map is too big for the people coming. Think it spreads people out too much and make spots not used much feel empty, know I am probably in minority saying that but think bigger isn't necessarily better when were struggling to keep people coming either.I agree with you on that. And it's harder to make an huge room look good instead of a small one. Let's talk about it IG next time we are connected at the same time

The map right now does give a bit of a small town feel despite being called a 'city', you could definitely tighten things up by having everything focused around a single dense city block with major buildings filling up the outer edges and some smaller 'utility' buildings filling the center block (like the subway, clothing/sex shops, and some small alleys to allow easy travel). Then any unused space on the edges could be filled with building fronts to keep the look consistent like on the Ephree map.
You could start with the current hotel and beach as one side and use that as a baseline for how big the other sides can be, and it would let you keep the current hotel intact (as big as it is, I think it looks great and should be kept as a core building). I also wouldn't mind seeing the park/forest area preserved in a corner somewhere since it would be nice to have a little quiet spot to get away from the busy city.

Well the main idea isn't to remove stuff (maybe the gym though who is almost never used), every place would exist on the new map but it would be smaller, look way better and keep people closer. I'm working on an exterior version and will show here what it would look like before deciding if we switch or not.

As an aside; I wouldn't really think of the issue of the map feeling empty as of late as the fault of anything we're doing wrong. My discord RPG, my forum RPG and most of the other stuff I do online REALLY cleared out once American schools went back in session. I think for niche games like ours it is just alot more noticeable when 20 people goes down to 10 as opposed to like...when 1,000,000 people goes down to 500,000. So I don't know that it's the map or events as opposed to the time of the year in general.
I still wanna see the Ephree map by the way! Suzie tell me why it won't work! Lol
